Metro World Child

Metro World Child was founded in 1980 in Brooklyn, New York by Pastor Bill Wilson. His original passion when he moved to New York was to reach at-risk, inner-city children exposed to violence, crime, drugs, gangs, neglect and poverty. His heart was to reach children with the message of hope through high-impact, fun and exciting programs.

At Metro World Child we don't believe that there are hopeless people or situations; we do, however, recognize that there are many children growing up in difficult and challenging environments all across the world and right here in Windhoek and the whole of Namibia who just don't have very much hope yet. Metro World Child exists to bring hope and joy to children today and change lives for tomorrow. We are teaching children moral and life principles that can help set their lives on the right path from an early age. We believe that it is better to build boys and girls and help set their life on a right path at an early age than it is to repair broken men and women years down the road. We believe that prevention is better than intervention; Children's lives are impacted now, so they may become leaders to the next generation later. We believe in team work and live by the motto: "Your commitment must be stronger than your emotions" Whatever it takes, we will be there and continue doing what we are doing
